Karen Morgan

Karen Morgan has over 20 years of experience as a Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist, with broad capabilities in geoscience, project management and database management. While working toward her Master of Science in Geology from he Colorado School of Mines, she was employed by several federal agencies, including the U.S. Geological Survey. The bulk of her career has been with the State of Colorado’s Geological Survey specializing in GIS, geology and web integration. She worked on projects such as the Landslide Map of Colorado, Message in Stone and the Groundwater Atlas of Colorado. After taking on large-scale digital projects that required advanced project management, Karen received her Project management Certification through Arapahoe Community College. Since GIS uses vast amounts of digital data, she made the transition to managing web and SQL databases for secure, large-volume and time-series data. Her consulting company, EDP Management Group, focuses on GIS and database management for geology, mining and environmental companies. When not working, Karen has a full family life with the love of her life and two children to keep her busy. They’ve lived in Lakewood since 1996 and enjoyed every minute.
